Write for BuzzInfo || Contributor Guidelines, Guest Post Submissions and What We Accept

Want to write for us? BuzzInfo publishes expert-driven content for US homeowners, business owners, and technology professionals. If you have real experience in roofing and construction, business and entrepreneurship, or artificial intelligence and technology, we want to hear from you.

This page explains our guest post guidelines who we accept contributions from, what topics we cover, what our content standards require, and exactly how to pitch. Read everything before sending anything — pitches that ignore these submission guidelines are not reviewed.

BuzzInfo has two contributor pathways: editorial guest posts (merit-based, free if accepted) and paid guest post placements (guaranteed placement for approved content). Both are described below. If you are an SEO professional or agency looking for a guaranteed do-follow link, skip directly to the Editorial vs Paid section.

→  Ready to pitch? Jump to the Submission Process below  ←

    Who Should Write for BuzzInfo

BuzzInfo does not publish content from general freelance writers with no subject matter expert background. Every guest author — editorial or paid — is expected to demonstrate real-world experience in their topic area before their content is accepted.

That is not gatekeeping for its own sake. It is the reason our readers trust us. When someone searches for the cost of a flat roof replacement in Houston or wants to know whether a hail damage claim is worth filing, they are making decisions that involve thousands of dollars. They deserve content written by someone who has actually dealt with these situations, not someone who researched the topic for an afternoon. This is YMYL content — “Your Money or Your Life” — and Google, along with our readers, holds it to a higher standard.

    Roofing and Construction Experts

If you are a licensed roofing contractor, roofing inspector, insurance claims adjuster, general contractor, or construction project manager with hands-on field experience, BuzzInfo is particularly interested in your contributions.

Our roofing coverage focuses on Texas and Florida — two of the highest-volume roofing markets in the United States due to hail frequency, hurricane exposure, and high homeownership rates. Contributors who have worked in these markets bring geographic specificity that dramatically increases the value and trustworthiness of our content.

You do not need to be a professional writer to contribute. We have editors who can help with structure, flow, and readability. What we cannot add is your ten years of inspecting hail-damaged roofs in Dallas or your firsthand knowledge of Miami-Dade NOA building codes. That expertise is what makes a BuzzInfo roofing article genuinely useful rather than generically informative.

    Business and Entrepreneurship Writers

Our business section covers startups, small business operations, entrepreneurship, finance, and related topics for US-based business owners and entrepreneurs. We are looking for contributors who have founded businesses, advised them professionally, or worked in roles — finance, operations, sales, HR — that gave them genuine operational insight.

A strong BuzzInfo business article includes specific cost figures, named tools or services, and real-world examples. It does not include phrases like ‘many businesses find’ or ‘experts say’ without naming who said it and where. Our readers are practical people making concrete decisions. Give them concrete information.

    Artificial Intelligence and Technology Writers

Our AI and technology coverage targets professionals who use, build, or evaluate AI tools in real working environments. We are not looking for general explainers of how neural networks work — that content exists everywhere. We want articles that come from people who have actually integrated an AI tool into a workflow, built with an AI API, deployed a machine learning model in production, or made purchasing decisions across competing AI platforms.

Technology articles should be specific enough that a practitioner would learn something new. If your article could have been written without using the tool, it probably should not be on BuzzInfo.

★ Ideal AI & Tech Contributors: AI practitioners and ML engineers | Software developers with AI/LLM experience | Marketing technologists using AI in campaigns | Product managers at AI or SaaS companies | Data scientists and analysts | IT professionals evaluating enterprise software | Technology journalists with verifiable publication history

→  Your expertise belongs here. Read the requirements below, then pitch us  ←

Topics We Accept — And What We Turn Down

BuzzInfo has four core content areas. Every accepted guest post must fall clearly within one of them. We do not accept general lifestyle, health, fashion, travel, or personal finance articles unrelated to business or entrepreneurship.

    Topics We Actively Seek

    Roofing and Construction

    • Emergency roof repair — costs, process, insurance steps, contractor selection
    • Hail damage identification, insurance claims, and repair processes
    • Roof replacement — materials comparison, cost breakdowns, contractor vetting
    • Flat roof systems — TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen, maintenance, replacement
    • Roof leak detection, cause identification, repair methods
    • Texas-specific roofing content: Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth
    • Florida-specific roofing content: Miami, Tampa, Orlando, hurricane prep and recovery
    • Roofing insurance claims, adjuster processes, ACV vs RCV, supplement strategies
    • Commercial roofing — building types, contractor selection, compliance
    • Contractor licensing, bonding, insurance requirements by state

    Business and Entrepreneurship

    • Starting and registering a business — LLC, sole proprietor, S-corp comparisons
    • Small business financing — grants, SBA loans, bootstrapping, angel investment
    • Building business credit, tax deductions, cash flow management
    • Hiring, HR compliance, employee vs contractor classification
    • Startup growth strategies, product-market fit, scaling operations
    • Specific software and tool reviews with real usage experience — CRM, accounting, PM tools
    • Freelancing, solopreneurship, and side-business development
    • E-commerce, dropshipping, digital product businesses — with real margin data

    Artificial Intelligence

    • AI tool reviews and comparisons from firsthand, extended use
    • Prompt engineering, AI workflow integration, automation with AI
    • Generative AI for specific industries — marketing, legal, finance, construction
    • AI ethics, bias, regulation, and practical compliance considerations
    • LLM comparisons (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity) with tested output samples
    • Machine learning concepts explained with practical, real-world applications
    • AI for business — automation, customer service, content, data analysis

    Technology

    • Cybersecurity for businesses and individuals — practical, actionable guidance
    • Cloud computing, SaaS selection, software evaluation for SMBs
    • Developer tools, programming resources, technical career development
    • Software comparisons and buying guides with genuine testing data

    Topics We Do Not Accept

We receive many pitches for topics that are outside our editorial scope. Submitting an off-topic pitch does not guarantee a rejection — it guarantees no response. The following are declined automatically:

    • Gambling, sports betting, or casino content of any kind
    • Cryptocurrency investment advice, token promotions, or NFT-related content
    • Pharmaceutical, supplement, or medical diagnosis content
    • Fashion, beauty, lifestyle, travel, or food content unrelated to business
    • CBD, hemp, or cannabis products
    • Adult content or services of any type
    • General SEO advice articles (link building tips, how to rank in Google, etc.) unless they demonstrate genuine original research
    • Listicles with no original insight: ’10 best tools for X’ with no actual usage experience or data
    • Content that primarily exists to promote a single product or service without editorial substance
    • Articles that were previously published elsewhere in substantially the same form

QUICK RULE: If your article would be equally at home on a dozen other websites, it is not specific enough for BuzzInfo. We want content that could only have been written by someone with your specific knowledge, in your specific field.

    Content Requirements and Quality Standards

BuzzInfo does not have a style guide in the traditional sense. We have one standard: would an experienced professional in this field trust this article? If yes, it will likely pass our editorial review. If no — because it is vague, unsourced, or could have been written without any real expertise — it will not.

    Length, Structure and Formatting

    Minimum Word Count

All guest posts must be a minimum of 1,200 words. Most accepted articles fall between 1,500 and 3,000 words. Length should serve the content — do not pad articles to meet a word count, and do not cut articles short because you are rushing. Our editorial team will notice both.

    Required Structural Elements

    • A clear H1 heading containing the target keyword or topic phrase
    • A minimum of 3-4 H2 headings dividing the article into logical sections
    • H3 and H4 sub-headings used where sections require sub-topics
    • An introduction that states the article’s purpose within the first 150 words
    • A conclusion with a practical recommendation or clear next step
    • At least one relevant cost figure, timeframe, or data point per major section
    • A minimum of 3 external links to primary sources (not Wikipedia, not competing publications)

    Formatting Standards

    • Short paragraphs: 3-5 sentences maximum. This is non-negotiable for readability.
    • Bullet points for lists of 3 or more comparable items
    • Tables for any comparison of 3 or more options (products, services, materials, prices)
    • Active voice throughout — ‘We tested the tool and found’ not ‘The tool was tested’
    • No more than one exclamation point per article
    • Numbers written as numerals (7 not seven) for any figure over 10 and for all measurements and costs

    Research, Sources and Accuracy

Every factual claim in a BuzzInfo article must be either verifiable through a cited primary source or transparently framed as the contributor’s personal professional opinion or experience. We do not publish unverified statistics, anonymous expert quotes, or claims attributed to ‘studies’ without naming the study.

Preferred external sources include: government agencies (IRS, SBA, FEMA, state licensing boards), professional associations (NRCA for roofing, SCORE for business), peer-reviewed research, original manufacturer documentation, and established publications with editorial standards of their own. Wikipedia is not an acceptable source. Competitor websites are not acceptable sources.

If your article contains cost figures — and most accepted BuzzInfo articles do — those figures must reflect current US market data with a clear geographic context. ‘A roof replacement costs $5,000-$15,000’ is not publishable. ‘In Houston, Texas, the average asphalt shingle roof replacement runs $8,500-$14,200 for a 2,000 square foot home, based on contractor quotes from Q1 2026’ is.

    Originality and Duplicate Content Policy

All submissions must be original content that has not been published — in whole or substantially in part — anywhere online before submission to BuzzInfo. This includes your own website, Medium, LinkedIn articles, Substack posts, or any other platform.

We run all submissions through originality checking tools before review. Articles flagged for significant content overlap with existing published content will be declined without editorial feedback.

AI-assisted writing is not automatically disqualifying, but AI-generated content submitted without substantial expert input, editing, and original experience-based additions will not pass our editorial review. We can tell. Our editors work with both human and AI-assisted submissions daily. The standard is simple: does this article demonstrate real expertise from a real person? If yes, it can be accepted regardless of the tools used to write it.

Link Policy: What We Allow, What We Don’t

Links are the most frequently misunderstood part of our contributor guidelines. Here is our policy, stated as clearly as possible.

    Do-Follow Links and Anchor Text

Every accepted editorial guest post receives 1 do-follow link to the contributor’s website. In some cases, based on the article’s content and length, we allow a second contextual link. You may not request specific anchor text in a pitch — links are placed contextually, and anchor text is agreed during the editorial process.

We recommend branded or partial-match anchor text for your long-term SEO health: ‘[Company Name] roofing services in Houston’ rather than ‘best roofer in Houston.’ Exact-match commercial anchor text is reviewed case by case and is sometimes approved, sometimes modified. This is standard editorial practice, not a restriction unique to BuzzInfo.

Links must point to pages that are live, relevant to the article’s content, and provide genuine value to BuzzInfo readers. We do not approve links to pages that are primarily landing pages for lead generation with no informational value, to pages covered with intrusive pop-ups, or to pages that contradict the editorial standards of the surrounding article.

    Affiliate and Promotional Links

Affiliate links are not permitted in editorial guest posts. If your article recommends a product and the link to that product would earn you a commission, that link is an affiliate link — even if you do not disclose it as such.

If you want to include affiliate links in your contribution, the correct pathway is our paid placement program, which allows affiliate links within disclosed sponsored content. See the Editorial vs Paid section below.

Outbound links to your own social media profiles, email lists, or newsletter sign-up pages are not permitted as the primary link in a guest post. One outbound link to your main website or a specific relevant article on your site is standard.

    What Every BuzzInfo Contributor Receives

We want to be specific here because vague contributor benefit lists are one of the most common forms of ‘write for us’ page filler. Here is exactly what you receive when your article is accepted and published on BuzzInfo.

    BenefitDetails
Permanent Author BylineYour name, professional title, and a 60-80 word author bio published at the top and bottom of your article. Your bio can include one link to your website or a specific professional profile.
Do-Follow Backlink1 contextual do-follow link to your website placed naturally within the article body. A second link may be approved based on content. Link equity value depends on BuzzInfo’s current domain rating at time of publication.
Permanent PublicationYour article is not removed after a set period. BuzzInfo does not rotate or archive guest posts. Your article lives at its URL permanently unless it violates our terms or is factually superseded and updated.
Social Media DistributionYour published article is shared across BuzzInfo’s social media channels on publication day. Reach varies by platform and current audience size.
Newsletter InclusionSelected articles are included in BuzzInfo’s email newsletter. Inclusion is editorial — we cannot guarantee every article will be featured, but roofing, business, and AI articles with strong reader utility are regularly selected.
Indexed ArticleYour article is published on a domain that is actively indexed by Google and other search engines. We implement proper on-page SEO including title tags, meta descriptions, schema markup, and internal links for all published articles.
Editorial SupportOur editors provide structural feedback and copy editing. We do not rewrite your article, but we will fix grammar, improve sentence clarity, add appropriate headings, and ensure your article meets our formatting standards before publication.

→  These benefits are yours with every accepted editorial guest post  ←

Editorial vs Paid Placement: Understanding the Difference

BuzzInfo has two distinct contributor pathways. Confusing them is the single most common reason pitches are declined or miscommunicated. Here is how they differ.

    Editorial Guest Posts (Free)

Editorial guest posts are published at no charge if your pitch is accepted. There is no payment to BuzzInfo and no payment from BuzzInfo to you. The content is reviewed and accepted purely on editorial merit — topic relevance, author expertise, content quality, and audience value.

Because editorial placement is merit-based, it is not guaranteed. We receive more pitches than we can accept. Articles can be well-written and still declined because we have recently covered the same topic, because the niche angle is not a fit for our current audience development strategy, or because we have a stronger pitch from another contributor on the same subject.

Editorial articles may not include: affiliate links, direct competitor comparisons that demean named businesses, or content that reads primarily as promotion for a single service or product.

    Paid Guest Post Placements (Guaranteed)

If you require guaranteed placement, a specific anchor text, keyword targeting for SEO purposes, or the ability to include affiliate or promotional links, the correct product is our paid guest post placement program.

Paid placements are clearly labeled as ‘Sponsored’ or ‘Partner Content’ in compliance with FTC guidelines. They are subject to the same content quality review as editorial articles — we do not publish low-quality paid content — but they are accepted with a commercial agreement in place rather than on editorial merit alone.

Paid placement is particularly relevant for: roofing companies targeting local keywords in Texas or Florida, SEO agencies building topical link profiles for clients, technology or SaaS companies targeting our business and AI readership, and businesses that want a dedicated article about their company specifically.

SEE OUR PAID PACKAGES → Visit our Guest Posting page for current pricing, available niches, link insertion packages, and turnaround times. Paid placements start at $250 for standard packages and include a guaranteed do-follow link, SEO optimization, and permanent publication.

How to Submit a Guest Post Pitch to BuzzInfo

The submission process has five steps. Do not skip or combine them. Pitches that arrive as full drafts without a prior pitch email are added to the review queue last, behind pitches that followed the process correctly.

Average editorial review time from pitch to response: 3-7 business days. Average time from accepted pitch to published article: 10-21 business days depending on editorial volume.

Step 1 — Check Your Topic Against Our Guidelines

Before pitching, confirm that your proposed topic is within our accepted categories, has not been covered recently on BuzzInfo (search our site first), and is something you are genuinely qualified to write about based on the contributor criteria above.

If you are unsure whether your topic is a fit, email us with a one-sentence description before writing a full pitch. We will respond briefly to save both of our time.

Step 2 — Send Your Pitch Email

Pitch emails should be sent to (lucytraviis@gmail.com) with the subject line: ‘Guest Post Pitch: [Your Proposed Title]’

Your pitch email must include all four of the following elements:

    1. Proposed article title and a 2-3 sentence summary of what the article will cover and why BuzzInfo readers will find it useful.
    2. Your credentials in this topic area. Not your writing experience — your subject expertise. If you are pitching a roofing article, what is your specific roofing background? If you are pitching a business article, what businesses have you founded, operated, or advised?
    3. One published writing sample relevant to the proposed topic. If you have no published samples, include a 300-word excerpt written in your natural voice on the topic.
    4. Your website URL and, if applicable, your LinkedIn profile or professional credentials page.

Pitches missing any of these four elements are declined without review.

Step 3 — Wait for Editorial Review

We review pitches in the order they are received. Our editorial team evaluates each pitch against the contributor criteria, topic fit, current editorial calendar, and recent publication history. We respond to all pitches — accepted, declined, or held pending editorial review — within 7 business days.

Do not send follow-up emails before 7 business days have passed. Following up before that window does not accelerate review and may result in your pitch being moved to a lower priority queue.

Step 4 — Write and Submit the Draft

If your pitch is accepted, you will receive an acceptance email with specific guidance on: your confirmed article title or angle, any adjustments to the scope we are requesting, our deadline for the draft, and any specific sections or data points we would like you to include based on audience needs.

Drafts should be submitted as a Google Doc shared with ( lucytraviis@gmail.com ) , or as a Word document attachment. Include your full author bio (60-80 words in third person, one link to your website) and a suggested meta description (150-160 characters) at the bottom of the document.

Meeting the agreed deadline is a condition of acceptance. If you cannot meet your deadline, notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Drafts submitted more than 7 days after a missed deadline without communication may result in the editorial slot being reassigned.

Step 5 — Editorial Review, Revision and Publication

Our editors review submitted drafts against our content quality standards. Most accepted drafts require at least minor revisions — structural adjustments, additional sourcing, or clarity edits. We will request one round of revisions if needed. If a draft requires significant revision, we will outline the changes clearly and give you the opportunity to revise and resubmit.

Once a draft is approved, we handle publication entirely: formatting, image sourcing, on-page SEO (title tag, meta description, schema markup, internal linking), and social distribution. We will notify you by email when your article is live with a link to the published URL.

We do not guarantee publication dates for editorial guest posts. We typically publish 2-4 editorial articles per week and schedule them in advance. Expect 10-21 days from draft approval to publication.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Does BuzzInfo charge for guest post placements?

Editorial guest posts — those accepted on merit — are published at no charge. You do not pay us, and we do not pay you. If you need guaranteed placement, specific anchor text, or keyword targeting for SEO purposes, our paid placement program starts at $250. See our Guest Posting page for current rates and packages.

How long does it take for my guest post to be published?

From pitch submission to publication, expect 2-4 weeks under normal editorial volume. Pitch review takes up to 7 business days. Draft review adds 3-7 days. Scheduling and publication typically adds 7-14 days. If you have a deadline — a product launch, a news hook, a seasonal event — mention it in your pitch email and we will do our best to accommodate time-sensitive content, though we cannot guarantee specific dates for editorial placements.

Will I get a do-follow or no-follow link in my guest post?

Editorial guest posts receive do-follow links. We do not use no-follow or sponsored link attributes on editorial content. Paid placements also use do-follow links but carry an FTC-compliant ‘Sponsored’ label on the page.

What is the minimum word count for a BuzzInfo guest post?

1,200 words minimum. Most accepted articles fall between 1,500 and 3,000 words. Word count should serve the content — we do not accept padded articles written to hit a number, and we do not want well-researched articles cut short because of a perceived length limit.

Can I include links to my own website in a guest post?

Yes. Each editorial guest post includes 1 do-follow link to your website, placed contextually within the article body. A second link may be approved based on content relevance and length. You may not include affiliate links, links to lead-capture pages without informational value, or more than 2 outbound links to your own domain.

Does BuzzInfo accept AI-generated guest posts?

AI-assisted writing is not automatically disqualifying. AI-generated content submitted without meaningful expert input, original experience, or editorial enhancement will be declined. We evaluate the expertise and trustworthiness of the content, not the tools used to produce it. If your article reads as though a generalist AI wrote it with no real-world input, it will not pass our review. If your article uses AI tools to support genuine subject matter expertise, it will be evaluated on its merits like any other submission.

What happens if my pitch is declined?

We notify all pitches — accepted and declined — within 7 business days. Declined pitches receive a brief reason: off-topic, topic already covered, contributor criteria not met, or editorial calendar conflict. We do not provide detailed editorial feedback on declined pitches, but if your pitch is declined for a specific addressable reason, we will note it so you can resubmit with a different angle if appropriate.

One More Thing Before You Pitch

BuzzInfo is a growing publication. We take every submission seriously because every article we publish either builds or erodes the trust our readers place in us. We are selective because our readers — homeowners deciding whether to file a $15,000 insurance claim, entrepreneurs choosing between business structures that affect their liability for years, professionals evaluating AI tools that will change how their team works — deserve better than content that is technically correct but experientially empty.

If your article has the potential to genuinely help someone make a better decision, we want to read your pitch. If it exists primarily to build a backlink, we have a paid program for that which will serve you better and be more honest for everyone involved.

We look forward to hearing from contributors who take their field as seriously as we take ours.
